How this examination works
Kuwait has two different things with similar names, and it is worth separating them before you start studying. One is the exit board of the Kuwait Institute for Medical Specialization, which certifies those who trained there. The other — this one — is the Ministry of Health licence, which is what a surgeon trained abroad needs in order to practise in the country. If you arrive with your specialty completed elsewhere, this is the one that applies to you.

The assessment is delivered by Prometric, like the rest of the Gulf. We have NOT located its general surgery syllabus document, so this page publishes no domains and no weights: there is good reason to expect it to follow the Dubai and Qatar pattern, which turned out to be identical to each other, but good reason is not verification. Qualification requirements and exemptions are matters for the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health.

What level are the questions for the Kuwait MOH?
2,051 of the 5,000 — 41% — sit at the hardest level. For a licence like the Kuwait MOH that matters differently than it does for an exit board: this is not measuring a residency curriculum but clinical breadth to practise, so what fails candidates is rarely the hard subspecialty question and usually the on-call one that was assumed known. That is why the Gulf bank is cut to the published syllabuses.
What does preparation for the Kuwait MOH cost?
