Especialista en Cirugía General (Venezuela) — registro ante el colegio de médicos

How you become a specialist here

No national exit examination

In Venezuela the specialty is registered with the state medical college, within the Venezuelan Medical Federation. Surgical specialties must submit the operative logbook with the interventions enumerated, alongside the postgraduate qualification. There is no national exit examination.

So what is a question bank for, here? For the years before the title, and for the evaluations inside them. Where there is no exit examination the pressure moves into residency — the ward round, the rotation assessment, the case you are asked to defend — and it is the same general surgery either way. The bank is also what you sit down with before a certification examination abroad, and before recertifying.

Checked against the body itself on 1 September 2026. Procedures change; if this no longer matches what you were asked for, write and tell us.
